Months of speculation came to an end last Sunday as it was revealed which one of AMC\u2019s \u2018The Walking Dead\u2019\u2019s many beloved, beleaguered characters would be transplanted to spinoff\/prequel series \u2018Fear the Walking Dead\u2019. \u2018Yeah, it’s me\u2019, confessed Lennie James, who plays Morgan on the show, to \u2018Talking Dead\u2019 host Chris Hardwick. Despite Morgan\u2019s on-again, off-again presence over the \u2018TWD\u2019\u2019s eight seasons, he\u2019s a staple character, having first been introduced to audiences all the way back in the zombie hit\u2019s 2010 pilot.<\/p>\n
Rumours of a potential crossover began swirling in October, when Robert Kirkman \u2013 the creator of \u2018The Walking Dead\u2019 comic book on which the series is based \u2013 told the New York Comic-Con crowd, \u2018There are two \u2018Walking Dead\u2019 shows. One character is going to go from one show that I will not name and appear on another show I will not name\u2019. Fans, in addition to the cast members themselves, took the bait.<\/p>\n
James admitted even he was caught off guard by the decision to have Morgan be the one to make the jump, but said he\u2019s \u2018really looking forward to exploring Morgan in a whole different world, with different characters, in a different place\u2019. Soon after the news was announced, some of James\u2019 fellow \u2018TWD\u2019 cast members took to Twitter to express how much they would miss him on set, including Khary Payton (Ezekiel) and Seth Gilliam (Father Gabriel).<\/p>\n
Those saddened by the prospect of Morgan\u2019s exit from \u2018TWD\u2019 can take comfort in the knowledge that his arc is not over yet. Showrunner Scott M.
