WEIRD WEATHER ON PBS

Friday, November 5th, 2021

Dry Lightning, Thundersnow, Polar Vortexes, Firenadoes, Ice Waves and Atmospheric Rivers – these are not the titles of far-fetched science-fiction films, but names given to some of the fearsome meteorological phenomena unleashed by climate change in the real world. With the aid of spectacular video footage, first-hand testimony from witnesses, stunning graphics, expert scientific analysis and dramatic recreations, sobering series MUTANT WEATHER, which begins at 9.55pm on Thursday 11th, takes viewers to the front line for an in-depth look at the various alarming ways in which our weather is mutating, right across the planet.

Dangerous extremes of heat and cold, record rainfall patterns, savage storms, melting polar ice and increasingly polluted air are among the stark warning signs examined and explained in detail, episode by episode.
