Like the famous pop and rap stars of today, the king of rock ‘n’ roll himself had his crew of trusted mates who would attend to his every need. Now, Elvis’ entourage takes centre stage in the UK premiere of Elvis and the Memphis Mafia on PBS America in August.
Through never-before-seen interviews, Elvis and the Memphis Mafia explores the role these trusted servants played in Elvis’ life, from the beginning of his career in 1954 to his shocking death in 1977 at the age of 42.
Over the course of his journey from bright-eyed rocker to bloated Las Vegas icon, they saw and heard everything. Explore Elvis’ world, from the highest highs to the lowest lows, through the eyes of the men who knew him best – the ‘Memphis Mafia’.
Elvis and the Memphis Mafia premieres on PBS America Wednesday, 15 August at 9pm. PBS America is available on Freeview 94, Freesat 155, Virgin Media 276 and Sky 160.
