Michael Schur is already riding high on the acclaim for The Good Place and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and now has another show ordered to series at NBC. He’s executive producing Sunnyside along with star Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar).
Penn plays Garrett Modi, once New York City’s youngest ever councilman, until the fame went to his head and he disgraced himself. The series follows him as he’s taken on by a group of would-be US citizens and given a chance at redemption.
