PBS Explores America’s Housing Failures

Thursday, May 28th, 2020

Created in 1970 and bulldozed in the mid-1990s, over the 25 years of its existence Atlanta’s East Lake Meadows was home to thousands of mostly African-American, low-income residents. Soon, however, shoddy construction and a lack of funding had made it nearly uninhabitable.

Drawing upon former residents’ stories, this documentary explores their lives and the struggle to overcome violence and neglect, raise a family, and find work and happiness in such a challenging environment, as public housing in America became increasingly stigmatised and a crack epidemic overwhelmed the area. giving a voice to some of American society’s most marginalised citizens, East Lake Meadows: A Public Housing Story (May 29th, 8.35pm) raises a series of critical questions – and demands answers.

What the industry says about US

Narrative Entertainment, UK

Just wanted to say a big thank you for all the GL help we received during our transition of all our channels from Sony to Narrative. All the work with the Movie & Entertainment channels rebranding to Great! and the numerous EPG Listings we delivered to you around this time were always efficiency produced and distributed and updated across our EPG platforms.

Inspiration Network International (INI), USA and UK

It has been fantastic working with Global Listings. They have been helpful and responsive – they have provided all the information requested. As we were new to the market, we had lots of questions. They were able to smooth things out and help us where we needed it. The execution of our business relationship has been seamless.
