Thursday 23 June at 9.50pm

When America entered the Second World War in 1941, 16 million troops joined the struggle. But many weren’t just fighting for peace. They were fighting to save their families in Europe, and their people.

JEWISH GIs OF WWII tells the story of the 550,000 brave Jewish-American men and women who served their country in WW2. Fighting against fascism, they were amongst the first to assist the survivors of the Nazi concentration camps liberated by American troops.

Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and director Mel Brooks are among the veterans who share their experiences of how they fought for their nation and people, emerging transformed after years of struggle, determined to continue the fight for equality and tolerance at home.
