This endearing fantasy romance comes straight from the brilliant mind of director Tim Burton.
Edward Scissorhands tells the story of an unfinished man-made humanoid with scissors for hands, Edward (Johnny Depp), who after his elderly inventor’s untimely death has been left lonely in his gloomy mansion sitting on top of a hill overlooking a perfect pastel suburbia.
That is until Avon lady Peggy Boggs (Dianne Wiest) comes to call. Venturing up to the castle, Peggy invites lonely Edward down and dazzles her placid suburban neighbours with Edward’s extraordinary
ability for topiary design and flair for hair styling. Edward becomes a town celebrity and soon finds himself drawn to Peggy’s weary but sympathetic daughter, Kim (Winona Ryder), who happens to be dating Jim (Anthony Michael Hall), the neighbourhood bully who takes a strong dislike towards Edward.
After a robbery frames Edward as the culprit, things in his life begin to go downhill, with Edward’s new friends turning against him.
