HGTV FANS, MEET HAZEL

The newest member of the HGTV family is a design assistant and chat bot named Hazel. Hazel was created as a tool to give Facebook Messenger’s one billion-plus users a more interactive, personalised experience of HGTV’s online content. The bot’s capabilities include, but are not limited to, helping users navigate the network’s website and offering guidance on design and home renovation through actual one-on-one conversation.

Hazel is the latest Facebook Messenger experience to be developed by Scripps Network Interactive; the first of its kind was launched in 2016 for Food Network as part of an effort to appeal to social consumers and reach fans in new, innovative ways.

“HGTV is the most trusted brand in home and lifestyle content, and we are always looking for ways to inspire consumers on every platform, wherever they are,” said Liesel Kipp, SVP of Product and Design for Scripps Networks Interactive.
