Known for playing everyone from Tony Blair and Brian Clough to sex therapist William Masters, and soon to be seen as an angel in the Neil Gaiman/Terry Pratchett adaptation Good Omens, Michael Sheen’s next role will see him play someone slightly less presentable: serial killer Martin Whitly. Known as The Surgeon, he’s the father of the pilot’s protagonist, Malcolm Bright, whose unpleasant background has left him with an unusual ability to work out how killers think – and stop them.
The pilot is the work of Deception‘s Chris Fedak and Sam Sklaver, working with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros TV. Lou Diamond Phillips, Aurora Perrineau and Frank Harts also star.
