Syfy to unveil bold new VR/AR project

Wednesday, May 8th, 2019

It’s part of the media landscape now that comic conventions host many of the big launches, and this year’s MCM London Comic Con is no exception, with Syfy set to unveil their ambitious Eleven Eleven.

Drawing on the growth in immersive theatre, it has over 90 minutes of content to explore, as users follow various characters around an island planet, and will be available from May 23rd.

Steve Patscheck, EVP Global Programming of NBCUniversal International Networks, said: “With Eleven Eleven, we are pioneering an innovative scripted format for science fiction content that blends the best of theatre, gaming and cinema to create unique VR and AR experiences. By creating an original piece of IP, SyFy was able to design specifically for VR and AR, all the while exploring how immersive technologies could heighten the thrill of storytelling.”
