NBCUniversal is celebrating their recent acquisition of the Harry Potter film franchise by dedicating an entire weekend to the wizarding world on Syfy and USA Network.
Over 13-15 July, fans will be able to watch all eight Harry Potter films in HD on the networks with limited commercial interruption. To truly tempt the HP fandom, the first six films will be the extended director’s cut versions.
The stunt, dubbed Wizarding Weekend, is to celebrate NBCUniversal being the new home of both the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts franchises.
Syfy and USA Networks haven’t stopped there: further stunts are planned, including a Back to Hogwarts marathon, Dark Arts marathon and a Christmas marathon.
“Whether they’re superfans who live and breathe Harry Potter or a new generation yet to discover the franchise, we’re giving fans of all kinds an entirely new way to experience the magic of The Wizarding World on television,” said Chris McCumber, president, of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment.
