GREAT! Movies Classic brings you a double bill of Audrey Hepburn movies on Saturday 21st. 60 years after its original release Aubrey still shines in the seminal role of Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s (9pm). Struggling writer Paul Varjak (George Peppard) moves into his new apartment and soon becomes infatuated with the cavalier and superficial lifestyle of his neighbour, elegant Manhattan socialite Holly Golightly. The two couldn’t be more different, but when Holly’s past comes back to haunt her, the two reluctant lovers must decide if they are truly meant to be together.
Before that, at 6.40pm, Sabrina features Audrey Hepburn as the title character being sought after by the two wealthy Larrabee brothers. Sabrina is the daughter of the wealthy Larrabee family’s chauffer, growing up on the families expansive Long Island estate. Sabrina had gone mostly unnoticed by the brothers, despite her lifelong infatuation with the youngest of the pair, renowned playboy David (William Holden). It’s not until she returns from a two-year cookery class in Paris that David starts to take an interest, but it may be that his older and more practical brother Linus (Humphrey Bogart) is the perfect match for Sabrina after all.
