Brooklyn Nine-Nine Cancelled By Fox, Picked Up By NBC

Friday, May 18th, 2018

Plenty of cancelled shows have eventually made comebacks, sometimes on new channels. But few have had quite such a short period in the wilderness as NYC cop comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, starring Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher and Stephanie Beatriz.

Cancelled by Fox on May 10th, with the channel saying they couldn’t find it a suitable spot in their schedule, the show spent all of 31 hours as the subject of outraged Internet demands for a comeback – a chorus including celebrity fans such as Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Hamill and Guillermo del Toro. And then, the lightning reprieve. Already produced by NBC, chairman Robert Greenblatt said that he regretted the show having been sold elsewhere in the first place.
