Colombia’s Most Successful Film Comes to Smithsonian

Wednesday, September 25th, 2019

British filmmaker Mike Slee spent four years shooting over 150 hours of footage to capture the largely unseen beauty of the world’s second most biodiverse country. Filmed in ultra-high definition, the 90-minute special Colombia Wild Magic (Wednesday October 2nd, 9pm) brings viewers to Colombia’s wild lands, wildlife and the people who, every day, are a part of it.

Colombia is a country with some of the most diverse habitats and extraordinary creatures on earth. Condors circle the Andean skies, jaguars prowl the forests, hammerhead sharks and humpback whales swim in the oceans. Colombia Wild Magic broke box office records in Colombia to become the most watched film in the history of the country’s cinema.
