Evita triumphs! The impressive musical stage show by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice is brought to the big screen in this stunning adaptation directed by Alan Parker.

There may have been controversy over the casting of Madonna in the lead role, but she breathes new life into the part of Eva Peron, a woman who was loved and hated in equal measure.

Written by Parker and Oliver Stone, Evita also stars Jonathan Pryce as Eva’s husband Juan Perón, and Antonio Banderas as Ché, an everyman who is cleverly worked in to all the scenes to act as the film’s narrator. The acclaimed film depicts the life of Eva Perón, detailing her beginnings, rise to fame, political career and death at the age of 33.
