Competitive baking series ‘Best Baker in America’ has been picked up for a second season by Food Network, Scripps Networks Interactive recently announced.

The series, hosted by ‘Food Network Star’ winner Jason Smith, follows highly skilled bakers as they face difficult baking challenges over the course of seven episodes. The winner is awarded the title of Best Baker in America, along with a cash prize.

The second season, produced in America by Triage Entertainment, is slated to begin production in early 2018 and will be launched in the spring on Food Network.
