J. J. Abrams’ brilliant sci-fi thriller SUPER 8 (Saturday 11th, 9pm), starring Joel Courtney, Elle Fanning, and Kyle Chandler, tells the story of a group of young teenagers in 1979 who are filming their own Super 8 movie when a train derails, releasing a dangerous presence into their town.
Originally believing the train crash to be a tragic accident, the young teens of this small Ohio town soon come to realise that there’s more to this catastrophic train crash than it seems, and the derailment may not have been an accident at all. The teens begin an investigation and soon unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in the town. The local deputy tries to uncover the truth, which turns out to be something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.
