Branching out into international scripted co-productions, A + E Networks International have announced Miss Scarlet and The Duke, a crime drama starring The Crown’s Kate Phillips.

Created by Rachael New, whose credits include Grantchester, it follows Eliza Scarlet, left penniless by her father’s death but disdaining the obvious option of marriage. Instead she takes the reins of his detective agency, partnering with rakish Detective Inspector William Wellington of Scotland Yard, aka The Duke.
