The channel premiere of Ridley Scott’s brilliant historic fiction epic Kingdom Of Heaven (GREAT Movies! Friday 12 November at 9PM) stars Orlando Bloom, Liam Neeson and Eva Green for Friday Night Film Club.
Living during the time of the Crusades of the 12th century, a French village blacksmith Balian (Orlando Bloom) is still grieving over the sudden death of his wife, so joins his long-estranged father, Baron Godfrey (Neeson), as a crusader and head to Jerusalem. The pair face a perilous journey to the holy city and Balian learns the skills of honour and valiancy, with Baron Godfrey soon naming him as a knight. Balian must use all he has learnt to defend a besieged Jerusalem against impossible odds and the powerful leader Sultan Saladin.
