Lifetime has announced the re-launch of their Emmy-award winning public affairs campaign, Stop Violence Against Women, with a new series and feature film shedding light on controversial R&B star R Kelly.
R Kelly (full name Robert Sylvester Kelly) has long been accused of alleged abuse of underage African American girls, allegations which have largely been ignored by mainstream media.
Lifetime is preparing to launch a ground-breaking investigative documentary series and an untitled feature film in order to establish a platform for Kelly’s alleged victims to share their stories.
“Some very brave black women have trusted us with their stories, their truth and their trauma,” said the executive producer of the documentary series, dream hampton. “They are survivors and I’m honoured to share their stories with the world.”
The documentary series is set to be an in-depth investigation into R Kelly’s career and lifestyle, and the film will reveal the secretive world of the R&B star, bringing to light the shocking allegations of abuse and twisted mind games. Both are executive produced by Kreativ Inc.
