Lifetime has announced two new projects to be executive produced by Queen Latifah, as well as a multi-picture production deal with Toni Braxton.
Latifah’s documentary Where Did the Women of Hip Hop Go? will explore the history of female rappers in the male-dominated industry.
She will also star in and executive produce the one-hour special U.N.I.T.Y, following Latifah as she remakes her hit 1993 single.
Braxton’s deal includes the movie that will form the centrepiece of Lifetime’s ‘It’s a Wonderful Lifetime’ holiday programming block.
Lifetime and LMN EVP of movies, limited series and original movie acquisitions Tanya Lopez said: “Both Queen Latifah and Toni Braxton have been part of the Lifetime family for many years and it’s proven that our audiences love them as much as we do. We are excited they will be back on the network for even more.”
