HISTORY’s hit drama series Knightfall is set to add former Jedi knight Mark Hamill to the cast in its second season, announced Eli Lehrer, Executive Vice President of Programming, this week.
The series, which premiered in July, has quickly become a fan favourite. It focuses on the clandestine world of the Knights Templar, the most powerful, wealthy and mysterious military order of the Middle Ages, entrusted with protecting Christianity’s most prized relic – the Holy Grail – and harbouring secrets capable of great destruction.
Now renewed for a second season, Knightfall is expanding the cast to include Mark Hamill (Star Wars) and bringing The Flash’s Aaron Helbing on board as showrunner and executive producer.
Hamill will play the role of Talus, a veteran of the Crusades who is tasked with training new Templar recruits. Also joining the cast in season two are Tom Forbes (Been So Long) and Genevieve Gaunt (The Royals).
Season one of the hit series continues this August and September on Mondays at 8pm on HISTORY UK.
