In this modern martial arts masterpiece, lead actor Jet Li used his trademark skills rather than CGI and wire work. A French-American co-production, the film follows Chinese intelligence agent Liu Jian (Jet Li) as he goes to Paris to break up an international drug-smuggling ring. But when he crosses a corrupt policeman (Tchéky Karyo) he soon finds himself at the centre of suspicion and can only clear his name with the help of a prostitute (Bridget Fonda).
