FX has announced a new project from Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and the musical’s director Thomas Kail. The pair also worked together on Miranda’s previous show, In The Heights. Miranda will executive produce, alongside Steven Levenson (Masters of Sex) and George Stelzner, while Kail will direct.
The new series, Fosse/Verdon, is like Hamilton derived from a biography – this time Sam Wasson’s book about the hugely influential choreographer, dancer and director Bob Fosse, who much like Miranda revolutionised the musical field with his work on the likes of Chicago and Cabaret. Oscar-winning actor Sam Rockwell will play Fosse, with Michelle Williams (My Week with Marilyn) as his wife and collaborator Gwen Verdon.
