Join PBS America as they take a close look at legendary Hollywood actor Steve McQueen’s love of bike racing, and the friendship with stuntman Bud Ekins that led to the invention of a new racing bike, the Desert Racer.
This one-hour film explores McQueen’s obsession with speed and his remarkable talent for racing. “Racing is life,” he famously said. “Anything before or after is just waiting.”
Narrated by actor and motorbike enthusiast Charley Boorman, and featuring exclusive interviews with McQueen’s son Chad, who spearheaded the UK- based Limited Edition reproduction of the Desert Racer, this documentary brings McQueen’s love of dirt bikes and dirt bike racing vividly back to life.
Steve McQueen: Desert Racer premieres on PBS America on Tuesday 29 May at 9pm.
