This three-part documentary examines Nazi propaganda of the 1920s and 1930s, facilitating Hitler’s rise to power and to world war. Using simple, repetitive rhetoric, striking images and symbolism and his talent as a public speaker, Hitler tapped into the discontent of the German people.
A decade of propaganda saw Hitler become Chancellor in 1933 and the dismantling of German democracy began. Propaganda was persuasive and terrifying, where those deemed undesirable faced the fate of the concentration camp.
Hitler used propaganda to justify warmongering, reframing it as defence of Germany’s people and borders. This film explores the role propaganda played for both Hitler and the Allies to mobilise their countries for war.
