Even after more than a century, the sinking of the ocean liner whose name has become a byword for maritime disaster continues to cast its shadow over the families of those affected.
Titanic and Me (PBS, 9pm on May 24th) is a unique account of the momentous tragedy in 1912. It draws together, through their descendants, the individual stories of many of the people it touched, from those who constructed the ill-fated vessel to the passengers who were aboard when the desperate S.O.S. distress calls were issued.
Some were to survive, while others were not so fortunate. Love, loss, triumph and tragedy all haunt these often incredible tales. Central to the enduring legacy of the RMS Titanic, they are uncovered and explored in this absorbing documentary.
