Auschwitz: The Inside Man
PBS: UK PREMIERE Friday 4th October at 8.15pm
Witness Witold Pilecki’s little known and heroic story during World War II: A Polish officer who infiltrated the Auschwitz concentration camp to create an information network with the help of resistance fighters within the death camp.
Once inside, Pilecki’s work was nothing short of heroic. Organising a clandestine network of resistance fighters within the camp, smuggling out reports that detailed the unspeakable atrocities being carried out by the Nazis. These reports, sent secretly to London, were among the first concrete pieces of evidence the Allies received about the true nature of the Holocaust.
His story, filled with courage, stands as a powerful reminder of the human spirit’s capacity to resist even the darkest forces.
