PBS Meets The Ship Sinkers

Monday, October 14th, 2019

How do you turn rusting ships into thriving artificial reefs, perfect for diving and home to all kinds of marine life? Join The Ship Sinkers at 7.50pm on Thursday 17th, as they turn former New Zealand frigate HMNZS Wellington into a thriving underwater world.

Cutting the rusting hulks up for scrap is expensive, and leaving them to fall apart in the world’s dockyards is an ecological nightmare. Instead, The Ship Sinkers meticulously clean them of pollutants, wire them with explosives and sink them.

Featuring exclusive archive materials from the early days of ship sinking and stunning new high- definition footage, take a trip beneath the waves as clapped-out wrecks become diving meccas – and big business for the tourist industry.

What the industry says about US

TT Spektra, Sweden

We use both the Global Listings press schedules (in Word) and their XML files. The programme descriptions are rather good and not too long, which is helpful. We use their text verbatim and import it direct into our database.

BIKE Channel, Europe

BIKE has worked with Global Listings since 2015. They’ve reliably supported us as we continue to grow both in Italy and the UK. Whatever the issue, whenever we need them, Global Listings provide exceptional customer service and technical assistance. The Global Listings teams are very efficient and responsive and we are very happy to be in partnership with them.
