Channel 5’s video-on-demand service My5 has had an infusion of quality documentaries with the arrival of Smithsonian Channel’s content on the platform – their first move into British streaming services. Following their recent move up the Freeview EPG, this provides another outlet through which viewers can find hit shows such as Mystic Britain and Black in Space: Breaking the Colour Barrier.
“We are thrilled to deepen our footprint in the UK as it’s been truly inspiring to see Smithsonian Channel’s programming resonate so strongly with international audiences,” said Smithsonian Networks president Tom Hayden. “We remain committed to sharing our powerful storytelling capabilities through premium content across traditional and emerging platforms globally. I am proud that Smithsonian Channel is a pre-eminent voice that viewers can trust around the world.”
