Something In The Air on PBS

Friday, November 29th, 2019

It’s a killer that claims tens of thousands of people every day, causes a range of respiratory diseases, changes how our DNA functions and may even be responsible for dementia. Often invisible to the eye, pollution is everywhere – even when we think we’re safe.

Documentary Something in the Air (Monday 2nd December, 9pm) explores the dangers of pollution, from children suffering with asthma in Toronto, to the cities across Europe and Asia that have to shut down and stop traffic to manage the air their people breathe. Also explored are potential solutions, including small, portable air monitors that can show the worst contaminants. As researchers reveal the invisible dangers around us, we can learn how to protect the most precious resource we have – air.
