Sony Movies Action presents the channel premiere of the 1971 horror film Murders In The Rue Morgue, starring Jason Robards, Christine Kaufmann, and Herbert Lom, on Tuesday 3rd at 9pm.
This chilling tale, loosely adapted from Edgar Allan Poe’s classic 1841 short story of the same name, revolves around a Paris theatre troupe who specialize in gory, naturalistic horror plays in the fashion of the Grand Guignol, and who are presenting –you guessed it –a production of Poe’s ‘The Murders in the Rue Morgue’. But the players soon start becoming victims of real-life gory murders – leading Inspector Vidocq to investigate the horrifying mystery –with fiction and reality blurring into one…
