Two Goslings On Sony Movies

Tuesday, June 9th, 2020

On Tuesday 16th, Sony Movies brings you a Ryan Gosling double-bill, with the award-winning Drive (9pm), followed by gritty crime drama Only God Forgives (11.05). The Driver (Gosling) is a skilled Hollywood stuntman who moonlights as a getaway driver for criminals. Though he projects an icy exterior, lately he’s been warming up to a pretty neighbour named Irene (Carey Mulligan) and her young son, Benicio. When Irene’s husband gets out of jail, he enlists Driver’s help in a million-dollar heist. The job goes horribly wrong, and Driver must risk his life to protect Irene and Benicio from the vengeful masterminds behind the robbery.

In Only God Forgives, Julian (Gosling) is a respected member of the Thai criminal underworld, having set up a boxing club which acts as a front for a drugs operation. When Julian’s brother Billy murders an underage prostitute, the police call on retired cop Chang – the Angel of Vengeance. Chang allows the father to kill his daughter’s murderer, but everyone is in danger when Julian and Billy’s mother turns up to find out what happened to her son. Also starring Kristin Scott Thomas.
