THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT (2004)​

The Irish Civil War

When her boss offers her a bonus if she agrees to ghost-write the cookbook of a difficult celebrity chef, Lauren sees her dream becoming a reality and sets about trying to tame the notorious bad boy chef in question, Dexter Durant (Shawn Roberts). As she gathers more and more evidence, she discovers the last thing she ever expected, that there is no way for the corporate army and UN officers to be held accountable for their actions.

Reign of Fire is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi fantasy directed by Rob Bowman. In present day London, a 12-year-old Quinn Abercromby accompanies his mother to work one day at a tunnelling project that inadvertently awakens dragons from a century-long slumber. ​​​

Twenty years later, the earth has been devastated by these fire- spewing dragons and a now adult Quinn, played by Christian Bale, works as a “fire chief” in a small refugee camp.​ Hope for human survival comes in the form of American hot-shot Van Zan (Matthew McConaughey). After a power struggle between Quinn and Van Zan, they come together to destroy the dragons and save humanity. ​​​

With stunning special effects and plenty of pyrotechnic action in this brilliant post-apocalyptic thriller.

This series of three epic travelogues seeks to illuminate one of the world’s lesser-known travel destinations, whose complex culture and rich history remain mysterious to many.

In 2011 a team of archaeologists from the University of Basel made an astounding discovery in Egypt’s Valley of the Kings. By chance they had discovered a new tomb, the first to be found since that of Tutankhamun.

Inside it were two bodies. One was that of a royal princess from the time of Amenhotep III – a man considered to be one of Egypt’s greatest pharaohs. As if that wasn’t enough, a previously unexcavated tomb nearby was found to contain at least 30 other bodies. Could they all be princesses too? Mariupol: UNlost Hope

Mariupol has suffered terribly following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Once the country’s tenth largest city, following a three-month-long siege its population has been reduced from over 425,000 to an estimated 100,000, with many of its civilians either dead or displaced.

Mariupol: UNLost Hope tells Mariupol’s story through the eyes of those who lived through the first month of the Russian invasion, creating a stark record of what has been described as a crime against humanity. Among them are journalist Nadia Sukhorukova, who describes being a spectator to the death of hundreds of people.

A shocking account of ordinary people trying to survive an extraordinary situation, it’s the story of a city where the only thing that hasn’t been destroyed is hope.
